If the Use Find My Device is on, you can configure some important options about the usage of the FMD network. The FMD network is actually formed by all the Android devices where that feature is enabled; these devices can partecipate to the effort to locate other nearby devices, not only full-featured Android devices but also bluethoot trackers.
You determine how to partecipate to the FMD network, configuring the find your offline devices option:
- Settings ⇒ Security ⇒ Find My Device ⇒ Find your offline devices
- Off - The app does not store the device's recent locations. The Android device will not partecipate to the FMD network. If the device is online, you can use FMD to locate, secure or erase the device.
- Without network - The app stores the device's recent locations and you can see them using the FMD service. The Android device will not partecipate to the FMD network.
- With network in high-traffic areas only - The app stores the device's recent locations. The device can be located using the FMD network only in areas where other devices are active. The Android device will partecipate to the FMD network only in areas where other devices are active.
